The support of and active involvement in missions is a fundamental part of the life of Christ the King. We believe God calls us:
-to do our part in helping to fulfill the Great Commission; that is to go and preach the
Good News of Jesus Christ to every person and to make disciples of all the nations
(Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Matthew 18:10-14).
-to minister God’s grace in its various forms to the whole realm of human need: spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual
(Isaiah 58:6-10; Isaiah 61:1; Matthew 25:31; Luke 4:18-19; James 2:15-16).
-to serve the poor
(Luke 4:18; Acts 4:32-35; Matthew 25:34-36).
-to honour the foundation of God’s grace to us. Freely we have been given, freely we are to give (Matthew 10:8; Ephesians 2:1-10).
We accomplish God’s calling by offering funding and prayer support for long term missions locally and in many other parts of the world. We consider a long term mission to be of a duration longer than 90 days.
Members of Christ the King also actively participate in short term missions, as well as funding them and praying for them. We consider a short term mission to be less than 90 days in duration.
